divx support for ps3 Good news for DivX and PS3 fans out there. DivX has announced that the latest PlayStation 3 update (version 2.10(a)) adds support for the DivX video format. This would make the PS3 the first gaming system to officially support DivX video playback (although the Xbox 360 does MPEG-4 compliant DivX files). It’s important to note that the PS3 is not a fully DivX certified DivX device as of yet. DivX expects full certification in the future.

divx pro for free

If you’re a fan of DivX but you’ve never been willing to fork out the $19.99 for DivX Pro, then listen up! DivX is currently running a holiday promotion offering DivX Pro for free. It’s not clear when the promotion will end so head over there and download the software. When you install DivX Pro, you’ll be asked for your email address. DivX will then send you a serial number that you can use to register DivX Pro with. Not sure if you’ll ever use it? Who cares? It’s free! that is.. for now.
