Nexto Extreme

Now here’s a device I could possibly use when I’m at CES 2010 next week. It’s the new NEXTO eXtreme and it’s primary purpose is to back up your photos and videos from any hard-drive camcorder or camera while you’re on the go without the need for a computer.

Simply connect your camera or camcorder to the eXtreme via a USB connection or insert your media card into the built-in media card reader to get content straight to the eXtreme. At the touch of a button you can copy, delete, browse, or backup your content.

Other features of the eXtreme include:

  • Confirms the integrity of your videos and photos
  • Detects faults and possible future hard drive errors
  • Through patented technology called X-Copy, the eXtreme copies up to 8x faster than other products
  • Backup 60GB of data with a single battery charge or 140GB with auxiliary battery
  • Backs up any file that has changed since the previous backup

The eXtreme is available in 160GB, 250GB, 320GB, 500GB and can be expanded up to 2 TB of storage. The device also comes with eSATA port allowing it to be used as an external hard drive for PCs, Macs, etc. Prices start at $235 for the 160GB NEXTO eXtreme.

[Check it out]
