Wish your flash drive was just a wee bit faster? You’ll want to check out the newly announced Corsair Flash Voyager GT USB flash drive which the company claims is the world’s fastest 128GB drive.

Corsair manages read speeds of up to 32MB/sec and write speeds of up to 25.6 MB/s (Corsair claims these speeds are limited by the speed of the USB 2.0 bus as well as OS overheard) using a new “revolutionary” design that employs a dual controller architecture – resulting in SLC level performance from MLC NAND flash memory.

The Flash Voyager GT isn’t only fast, it’s also designed to be super durable thanks to its water-resistant rubber housing that’s designed to protect it from accidental damage. (one of my co-workers surely could have used that durability recently).

Expect to find the Corsair Flash Voyager GT now at various retailers.

Eye-Fi announces the introduction of their latest wireless SDHC media card – the Eye-Fi Pro. The Eye-Fi Pro adds support for RAW image support and ad-hoc network support for peer to peer network connectivity without the need of a router. The company also announced today that all Eye-Fi card users can now select which photos or videos they want to transfer from their camera to the computer or the web using the new Selective Transfer feature.

Here’s what you need to know about the new Eye-Fi Pro card:

4GB SDHC Ccard

Upload through Wi-Fi hotspots or set up an Ad Hoc network

Upload RAW photos

Automatic geotagging

Send photos to any of over 25 popular sharing, blogging, and networking websites including Flickr, Facebook, Picasa, etc

MSRP of $149.99

As for “Selective Transfer”, this is a new feature announced today which gives users more control over which photos and videos should be uploaded. All you need to do is “protect” or “lock” a file on your camera and then the Eye-Fi cards will automatically upload the file. Selective Transfer is free and available now for all Eye-Fi card users through the Eye-Fi Manager.

Looking for a notebook with a super massive solid state drive? You’re in luck – Toshiba has announced the world’s first notebook/laptop with a whopping 512GB Solid State Drive on the inside. The system, known as the Portégé R600-ST4203 (sounds like a space shuttle mission doesn’t it?), also happens to be a nice ultra-portable system too – weighing a mere 2.4 pounds and measuring only 0.77 inches thin. But back to the SSD component for a second. We all know why Solid State Drives rock – they’re more power efficient, have no moving parts, and most importantly, offer faster performance than a standard hard drive. However, all this performance comes at a price.. but more on that in a second.

Let’s list the major specs to the Portégé R600-ST4203:

Intel Core 2 Duo Processor SU9400

Windows Vista 32/64 bit OS

3GB RAM

802.11 a/g/n Wi-Fi

Bluetooth 2.1 connectivity

12.1 inch widescreen 1280 x 800 resolution display with LED sidelight

Intel GMA 4500MHD graphics

DVD burner

Built-in webcam and microphone

Gigabit Ethernet

7.53 hour battery life

ExpressCard slot

2 USB 2.0 ports, 1 eSATA/USB 2.0 combo port

SD slot

Fingerprint Reader

Now back to the price.. The Portégé R600-ST4203 will be available in early June for a whopping $3499.99. Yeah.. 512GB of fast storage space comes at a price folks.
