Hey folks – how’s everyone doing? Hope the gadget community at large is doing well.I took some time off last week to focus on some work (my real day job that is) as well as to simply get away from writing. Blogging does take a bit out of ya from time to time and March always seems like the month where I disappear off for a bit – only to hopefully come back a tad bit stronger!

So here we are at the end of March and there’s still a ton of stuff for me to do with Krunker. We’ve got several products that are still awaiting our review treatment. I’m still looking for some part-time help (free would be nice). I still have a ton of work to do outside of this AND I’m still working on building up NetbookTech.

One of these days I’ll write about my nightmarish digital music management experience (Never have multiple digital music library apps manage your music simultaneously!). Let’s just say that I’m attempting to restore 200+ GB of digital music as we speak .. (well when I’m home from work that is).

OK.. enough of this boring stuff – let’s see what’s going on in the world at large when it comes to tech ok?

We here at Krunker Media would like to wish all of you a very safe and happy holiday season. As you can tell, it’s been quiet around here lately – we’ve been on a short vacation – enjoying time with family and friends (not to mention attending some weddings too!). But never fear – we’ll be back up and running soon enough and guess what? CES 2009 is just around the corner and we’ll be there too! CES coverage will begin next Wednesday and will run well into the weekend and I’m sure the following week.

And finally, enjoy the last day of 2008 and have a wonderful New Years. Here’s hoping 2009 will be a far better year than 2008!!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Fourth of July weekend. We spent the weekend grilling up a storm, playing some volleyball, and just relaxing. OK.. I did sprinkle in a little bit of work here and there (BTW – I have this love/hate relationship with Ruby on Rails right now.. mostly hate.. but oh well) but for the most part, I took time off from Krunker.

Of course, this week will certainly be a pretty big week – at least towards the end of the week when the new iPhone 3G launches. You can probably count me in as one of the many who will upgrade their iPhones to the newer model as well as upgrading (and paying more) for the 3G service.

A couple of other interesting notables. I hope to finally bring out a review of an HP Pavilion Slimline system that I’ve been using as an HTPC system as well as a review of the Chumby. Oh yes – hopefully you’ll see a short review of a new MadCatz Xbox 360 add-on that brings HDMI connectivity to first generation Xbox 360 systems.

Ok.. that’s it for now, got some work to do but I’ll be back later on in the day!

Hey folks, sorry for being offline for most of this past weekend. Our host provider, The Planet.com, had a slight problem this past weekend. I’ll use the words from Kevin Hazard of the Planet to describe what happened:

This evening at 4:55pm CDT in our H1 data center, electrical gear shorted, creating an explosion and fire that knocked down three walls surrounding our electrical equipment room. Thankfully, no one was injured. In addition, no customer servers were damaged or lost.

Ouch! This impacted roughly 9000 servers and 7500 customers.. further OUCH. In any event, we’re back online now and things appear to be running somewhat smoothly. Having worked for a company that had major datacenters also, I can totally emphasize with what The Planet must have been going through. In any event, hope everyone will have a wonderful week!

I apologize for the lack of updates over the last several weeks. I’ve been utterly bogged down at work (yes.. again, I have a real day job!!) but things are starting to clear up again – so hopefully, I’ll be back at writing posts here at Krunker.com.

What have I been up to exactly? Well, I’m actually in the middle of rolling out a new REST based web service for my company. One of my next projects will be to integrate the new API that I’m developing into a WordPress blogging engine. Should be fun! I’ll also be able to talk about what exactly I’m developing shortly but let’s just say it has to do with language translations of course!

In the meantime, I’m going to try and recruit some help along the way to make sure Krunker gets the attention the site deserves. With that said, I hope all of you have a wonderful week!
