Gateway introduces their latest all-in-one PC, the affordable multi-touch enabled Gateway One ZX Series. Housed in a sleek glossy jet black chassis resembling a flat panel TV, the One ZX features an adjustable back stand, integrated speakers, silver and clear acrylic accents, and illuminated feet and keyboard.

What makes the One ZX particularly interesting is the built-in multi-touch display which leverages Windows 7’s multi-touch capabilities to provide users with a whole new way of interacting with the Windows desktop. Gateway bundles the new TouchPortal interface on top of Windows 7 to serve as a starting point to managing a suite of Gateway one-touch “gadgets” and Microsoft touch applications. Gateway’s TouchGadgets include:

TouchMusic – create and move music, albums and playlists between multiple devices and applications to enjoy music when and where consumers want it.

TouchPhoto – view, enjoy and share digital photos simply.

TouchMediaShare – enjoy and share digital media such as video, create slideshows and easily store, share and upload it with a single touch.

TouchFriends – make social networks easier to access and more intimate with one-touch access to Facebook and Flikr.

TouchMemo – handy notepad lets customers jot down quick notes for themselves and others and leave on the “desktop” as a reminder.

The Gateway One ZX is made up of the 23 inch ZX6800 Series and the 20 inch ZX4800 Series. Here are specs to two of the models in the new series.

Here’s another Atom-based all-in-one PC for you to consider. It’s from the folks at Tangent Inc, and it’s called the VITA LT. The company claims the VITA LT “offers industry-leading power efficiency” at a mere 24 watts and 72 percent less energy usage than other standard Energy Star 4.0 PCs. Spec wise, the VITA LT has the following:

Intel Atom N270 processor

Intel 945GSE + ICH7-M chipset

Up to 250GB 2.5 inch HDD

Slim DVD+-/RW drive

Up to 2GB RAM

2 channel audio

2 integrated speakers rated at 3W each

18.5 inch WXGA LCD panel with 1366 x 768 resolution

Keyboard/mouse

Gigabit LAN

802.11 a/b/g/n Wi-Fi

External power supply

Four USB 2.0 ports

Two PS/2 ports

Audio ports

4 in 1 media card reader

1.3 megapixel webcam

VESA mount support

Sounds pretty cool however, the pricing is a bit steep for an Atom-based system. According to their press release, the VITA LT’s educational pricing starts at $999.

Missed this one from early last week. Those of you waiting on the new Eee Top ET1602 should be happy to hear that ASUS is now shipping the All-In-One PC here in North America. For a starting price of $599, the ET1602 features items such as a 15.6 inch touch-screen display, an Intel Atom processor, integrated webcam, array microphone, Wi-Fi, 1GB of RAM, 160GB HDD, built-in speakers, and a built-in handle. We first saw the ET1602 at CES 2009 and we were certainly impressed with what we saw. While the All-In-One comes with Windows XP, it’ll certainly be interesting to see what the system will be like running something like Windows 7 which has a much better touch-oriented UI.

AND, if you’re looking for an external DVD drive for the ET1602, ASUS has announced a matching-design SDRW-08D1S-U Diamond slim USB DVD drive. No word on pricing.

Who said PC All-In-Ones are boring looking? Dell brings sexyback with the announcement of the new 19 inch Studio One 19 All-In-One (AIO) PC today. Available in a multitude of colors, the Studio One 19 will look good no matter where it’s placed thanks to its use of aluminum, glass, and fabric.

However, beauty isn’t skin deep here – the Studio 19 is decked out with the latest technologies. On the display front, the Studio One 19 has an optional touch screen display allowing it to compete against HP’s TouchSmart All-In-One PCs. There’s even a suite of touch-enabled applications from Dell allowing you to perform activities such as:

Multi-touch photo editing, slideshow creation, playlist compilation, notes, and web browsing.

You Paint finger painting software

Record videos and upload directly to YouTube with the touch of a finger.

Flick to Flickr – Upload photos to Flickr to share with family and friends.

Create a musical masterpiece with the multi-touch percussion center

On the inside, you have the following configuration options for the Studio One 19:

Processor choices include Intel Celeron, Dual Core Celeron, Pentium Dual Core, Core 2 Duo, and Core 2 Quad Core

Up to 4GB RAM

Up to 750GB HDD

Slot-load optical drive

7 in 1 media card reader

six USB ports

Optional integrated wireless, webcam, Blu-ray

Optional facial recognition security with webcam

One single cord for the entire system

Prices for the Studio One 19 will start at $699 (and you gotta figure that’s for the Celeron model). Now in terms of availability, Dell will be launching the Studio One 19 first in Japan on March 23rd. The model will then be introduced in other countries later this spring.

BTW – even if Dell sales are lagging these days, you have to like what they’re doing with their new products – an emphasis on style and functionality. I like…

Interested in the new ASUS Eee Top 1602 all-in-one PC system announced back at CES 2009? You’ll want to check out PC Magazine’s review of the system here on their website. The Eee Top 1602 (which we checked out at CES) comes with a 15.6 inch widescreen touch-screen display, Windows XP, an Intel Atom N270 processor, 1GB of RAM, integrated Intel graphics, Gigabit Ethernet, Wi-Fi, built-in stereo speakers, a memory card reader, and various ports. Interestingly, PC Magazine published a price for the 1602 – $599 for the system which isn’t too bad considering all that you get (though a beefier processor would have been nice). Here’s what they thought of the Eee Top:

“The ASUS Eee Top 1602 is the first truly integrated all-in-one nettop. The Eee Top may create a new category—think of it as the new Internet terminal that replaces your desktop (which is what WebTV or Audrey tried to do).”

Is a nettop in your future?

Over at NetbookTech, we covered their latest announcements on the netbook front which basically boiled down to new tablet-style netbook systems – the 8.9 inch Eee PC T91 and 10 inch Eee PC T101. You’ll also find a digital stills of their Eee PC product line here (and boy there are a lot of models now).

On the desktop front, ASUS introduced their first touch-enabled all-in-one PC – the Eee Top ET1602 – at CES 2009. The system features an Intel Atom processor, a 15.6 inch touch-screen display, a built-in hard drive, and of course, Windows XP Home Edition.

The full specs include:

15.6 inch 16:9 widescreen touch-screen display

Windows XP Home OS

Intel Atom N270 processor

Intel 945GSE + ICH7 chipset

It certainly appears this will be the year of the inexpensive all-in-one PC. Sure would love to install Windows 7 on these machines!
