Need a tough sturdy notebook case for your MacBook or MacBook Pro system? Here’s an interesting case from the folks at CaseCruzer. It’s called the Pelican Apple 1490 laptop case and it’s the kind of case that only a long distance traveler will love. The Pelican case is dust/sand proof, watertight, resistant to extreme temperatures, airline safe, and comes with a custom polyurethane foam interior. The case actually comes with a good deal of foam padding which means the case is great at guarding against shock, impact, and vibration - three things that are most common during travel.. and three things that are just horrible to your notebooks. The 1490 case weighs 8.7 lbs when empty and measures 19.43 x 13.93 x 4.69 inches. The 14 inch notebooks and smaller can use the $167.80 dollar case while the $150.40 case fits 17 inch notebooks (I’m not sure why the larger case is actually cheaper.. maybe less foam?)

iSkin has introduced a new all-encapsulating case for the Apple iPhone called the Fuze. According to iSkin, the Fuze gets its name from the “fusion” of a shock-absorbing soft inner layer and a hard impact-resistant polycarbonate exterior. The case has a rubberized outer-finish to help you grip the phone better (lord knows how many times I’ve dropped the iPhone because of slippage). iSkin also claims that this is the only case on the market that provides built-in docking port protection. That’s probably true but then again - I’ve never had problems with dirt or grime getting into the port connector.

Despite an all-encapsulating protection, the Fuze provides unhindered access to the screen, sensor, port, and headphone jack on the iPhone.

A little known case maker had their website utterly crushed today by curious web surfers when they posted up renderings of a case designed for the upcoming 3G iPhone.  Yes.. the magic words were 3G iPhone. A flood of users went to the website to see what the upcoming iPhone might possibly look like. The case itself is called the “EXO Mask iPhone 3G”. There’s no way to confirm at this time whether this really is an accurate rendering of the 3G iPhone but as AppleInsider points out - this might be the case manufacturer’s way to generate traffic to their website.

Some cool news for Rock Band and Guitar Hero owners. Mad Catz has entered into a multi-year licensing agreement with Coffin Case Company to sure the rights to manufacture, market, and sell official Coffin Case branded carrying cases for guitar controllers, drums, and videogame accessories for Rock Band and Guitar Hero. You could of course buy a carrying case for the guitar right now from the Rock Band website.. but a Coffin Case carrying case would be a bit sweeter.
