virgin mobile paylo

Virgin Mobile announced the new “payLo” sub-brand last week designed for those of you that hardly make any wireless mobile phone calls and looking to spend as little as possible. Expected to roll out this month at drug/convenience stores and at retailers such as Radio Shack and Best Buy, payLo by Virgin Mobile allows customers to choose from two easy-to-use inexpensive plans without a contract, activation fee, or termination fee to worry about.

The two plans customers can choose from are as follows:

  • 400 minute plan for just $20 dollars a month
  • Adding 20 dollars to an account maintains an active account for 90 days and allows customers to make phone calls for a basic rate of 20 cents a minute – this plan is ideal for customers who really hardly ever make any mobile phone calls but want a cell phone just in case

As for text and data, the pricing is as follows:

  • 15 cents per text message
  • $1.50 MB/day
  • 25 cents each picture message
  • and finally 20 cents for each additional minute on top of the plan

Virgin Mobile has several handsets available for the payLo program including:

  • Kyocera Jax for $9.99
  • LG Flare for $19.99
  • Samsung M340 for $39.99
  • Kyocera TNT! for $9.99

The LG 101 will be available on the 19th (price to be announced)
