All the new plans feature free nationwide T-Mobile to T-Mobile calling, free nights and weekends, free overage alerts for non-unlimited users, and whenever minutes you can use whenever.
Talk 500 minutes – $29.99 a month

Talk + Text Unlimited – $59.99 a month

Talk + Text + Web 1000 minutes- $69.99 a month

Family plans are as follows:

Talk + Text + Web 1500 minutes- $119.99 a month

Talk + Text + Web 750 minutes- $109.99 a month

So what’s the catch you might ask? You lose subsidized pricing on mobile phones – which can be a lot or a little depending on the handset you want. However, T-Mobile does offer an “equipment installment plan” which allows you to amortize the cost of the handset over a 20 month period – spreading the cost across a longer period of time.

T-Mobile USA announced the upcoming availability of the T-Mobile myTouch 3G – the follow-up Android-based handset to the popular T-Mobile G1. Designed by HTC, the myTouch 3G features a 3.2 inch HVGA touch-screen display, a virtual keyboard, a 3.2 megapixel camera, a music player, a pre-installed 4GB microSD memory card, and enhanced video capabilities for easier recording and sharing of pictures and videos.

As with the original G1, the myTouch 3G comes with deep integration of Google services as well as the latest Android software platform. You’ll have access to the thousands of Android applications currently available and you’ll also have access to the Geodelic application called “Sherpa”.

Here’s what T-Mobile had to say about “Sherpa”:

“Sherpa features GENIE (Geodelic ENgine for Interest Evaluation), a learning engine that automatically customizes itself to the user’s preferences. Through behavior and user feedback, the application learns a person’s likes and dislikes, prioritizing recommended retailers, restaurants and attractions. Seamlessly blending behavior recognition, a recommendation engine and location relevant information, this combination of learning is exclusive to Sherpa and unlike any experience currently on the market.”

Other notable features include:

Multi-tasking capabilities

One-touch access to Google services including Google Search by Voice, Google Maps with Street View, YouTube, and Picasa

Personal and Corporate email

IM support including Google Talk, AOL, Yahoo Messenger, and Windows Live Messenger

The myTouch 3G will be available for pre-order for current T-Mobile customers starting on July 8th for a price of $199.99 along with a new two year agreement.

One final note. This is NOT the new HTC Hero that was announced last week.. yes.. the Hero makes the myTouch 3G look a bit outdated doesn’t it?

Yes, it’s a bit strange for HTC to come up with one SKU of the Sapphire for the U.S. and another one for other carriers elsewhere in the world.

Now as far as availability? Expect the Sapphire (or possibly known as the T-Mobile G2) in July for $179 after a new 2 year contract.

Exclusively available only at T-Mobile, this candy-bar shaped handset has a plastic housing made of recycled water bottles which also happens to be completely recyclable.

Ahh but the greenness doesn’t stop there with the Renew. Somewhat true to the name, Motorola considers the Renew the world’s first ever “carbon-neutral mobile phone” – a device that “renews”. How does it gain such a status? Motorola will offset the carbon dioxide required to manufacture, distribute, and operate the phone through investments in renewable energy sources and reforestation – thereby renewing the resources consumed in making the phone available to consumers. No a bad idea (let’s see if it’s executed well though).

Other “green” features of the phone include:

9 hour talk time for conserving power consumption

Phone packaging and in-box materials made of 100 percent post-consumer recycled paper

Includes prepaid shipping envelope for customers to use to recycle their old device

Other features and specs to the MOTO Renew include:

Noise reduction with speaker boost

Built-in music player

Text messaging support

microSD slot

Picture messaging

myFaves support

Speakerphone capable

Speed dial, vibrating alert, alarm clock, calculator, and calendar

Measures 4.4 x 0.6 x 1.8 inches and weighs 3 oz

9 hour talk time and 18.75 day standby time

The MOTO W233 Renew is available today at a price of $9.99 with a new two year agreement ($59.99 minus a $50 dollar discount).
