eMachines introduces Mini-e Home Entertainment Center PC
eMachines enters the home theater PC (HTPC) market with the recent introduction of the Mini-e Home Entertainment Center. About the size, shape, and weight of a small book, the Mini-e (model ER1402) features an energy efficient AMD Athlon II Neo processor, NVIDIA graphics, an HDMI port, and 64 bit Windows 7 Home Premium – definitely all the makings for an inexpensive HTPC. Features and specs to the Mini-e are as follows:
- Single-core AMD Athlon II Neo Processor K125 clocked at 1.7GHz with 1MB L2 cache, 1066MHz Front-Side Bus
- NVIDIA nForce 9200 chipset
- 2GB of DDR3 RAM
- 160GB 5400RPM SATA HDD

If you ask me, this has all the makings for an inexpensive Boxee-based PC and is certainly a competitive alternative to the Dell Inspiron Zino HD. The eMachines ER1402 is available now for a suggested price of $299.99.
