USB Handy Microscope

OK.. I just might have to make myself an ant farm again. Why you might ask? So I can readily have something to view once I get one of these new Brando USB Handy Microscopes! (You gotta love the name too!)

Priced at $79 dollars, this cool USB connected microscope can magnify anything from 10x all the way to 200x. You can even capture digital stills or a video clip – all with a simple click.

The USB Handy Microscope has a USB interface, comes with an on/off switch, utilizes manual focus, and has an LED light source. OS support includes Windows XP and Windows Vista.  It even comes with a handy mini-tripod. How cool.

I’ve always been a fan of Brando products and this one absolutely takes the cake. It’s the USB Webmail Notifier and yes.. it’s shaped like an email message icon. It connects to your PC’s USB port and then illuminates a cool blue, red, or green color when a new email message arrives (oh yeah it also plays a sound when an email comes in). The device supports Gmail, Yahoo, Outlook, Outlook Express, and POP3 email accounts and works with Windows 2000/XP/Vista. The Webmail Notifier will become available in late October although you can pre-order it now for $17 dollars.

The keyboard measures 262 x 112 x 23 mm and features 78 keys, a built-in trackball with 1000/1500 dpi resolution, and an operating distance of up to 10 meters. The keyboard communicates over 2.4 GHz RF to a separate USB receiver which connects to your PC. Brando offers the keyboard for $48 dollars.

iPhone Power Station

Brando iPhone Power Station

Brando is out with an external battery solution for the iPhone’s miserable battery life called the iPhone 2G/3G Power Station. The Power Station features a 1000 mAh rechargeable battery and connects to the iPhone’s dock connector. Other features of the Power Station include a test button to check on the Power Station’s current capacity, and an animated LED indicator for when the battery is charging. While it’s certainly not small, the Power Station is a solution for those of you constantly running out of power. The Brando iPhone Power Station has a price of $25 dollars.

Let’s face it folks – Brando makes some of the coolest most useful USB based products out there. The latest is the USB Rechargeable Clip Torch which is a clip-on light that can be used for reading a book in the dark or bringing some additional  light to a laptop display. As the product name implies, the Clip Torch can be conveniently recharged via a computer’s USB port. Other features include a bright white LED light, 2 clips, and the ability to rotate 180 degrees. The USB Rechargeable Clip Torch measures 166 x 34 x 15.5 mm and weighs only 7 grams. Best part? You can buy one for $14 bucks. Sure seems like a fun X-Mas present!
