Star Trek’s U.S.S. Enterprise Webcam
Fans of the original series (TOS) will certainly appreciate this gadget – it’s the Brando Star Trek USB Enterprise Webcam. Yes that’s right – a webcam built into a small model of the original Enterprise (not the new Enterprise from that crap Abram’s flick last year).
The webcam sits in the navigational deflector of the Enterprise (yeah that’s right – I know this stuff!) and when the units are powered, the Bussard ramscoops glow a cool red color (though the ramscoops don’t rotate – that would have been cool eh?).
It’s completely plug and play – no additional software required. The webcam will work with all sorts of chat programs including AIM, MSN, iChat, and Skype. It has a bendable gooseneck mount allowing you to position the Enterprise just right on your desktop.
As for picture quality, it’s a bit on the low end with a 300k pixel resolution captured at 30 frames per second – but hey what do you want? It is the 1960’s Enterprise we’re talking about here (or err.. the 23rd century Enterprise).
You can pick one up now over at the Brando website for $30 dollars. Woo should I?????
