Sony made several major 3D product announcements this week including the following:
- 3D capable BRAVIA TVs are now available for pre-order at Sony Style stores
- Integrated Blu-ray 3D devices will hit retail stores this July
- Free firmware update released that activate 3D Blu-ray functionality on BDP-S470 and BDP-S570 players and the BDV-E570 and BDV-E770W home theater systems.
- New 3D capable home audio products
Sony’s new lineup of 3D enabled BRAVIA HDTV sets include the following models:
3D integrated BRAVIA XBR-LX900:
- Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution
- Monolithic Design, Edge LED backlight display
- Built-in 3D sync transfer
- Two pair of active shutter glasses
- Integrated Wi-Fi (802.11n)
- 60-inch XBR-60LX900 priced around $5000 dollars
- 52-inch XBR-52LX900 priced around $4000 dollars
3D ready BRAVIA XBR-HX909:
- Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution
- Intelligent Dynamic full array LED backlight display
- Monolithic Design concept
- 3D sync transmitter (about $50 dollars) and glasses ($150 dollars a pair) can be added at additional cost
- RS-232c I/0 terminal
- 52-inch XBR-52HX909 priced around $4000
- 46-inch XBR-46HX909 priced around $3500
3D ready BRAVIA KDL-HX800:
- Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution
- Dynamic edge LED backlight display
- 3D sync transmitter and glasses can be added at additional cost
- 55 inch KDL-55HX800 priced around $3400
- 46 inch KDL-46HX800 priced around $2700
- 40 inch KDL-40HX800 priced around $2100
Sony’s Blu-ray 3D player lineup is as follows:
- Built-in Wi-Fi (802.11n)
- Available in July for around $300 dollars

On the Blu-ray 3D Home Theater Front, Sony has the following products:
Sony BDV-HZ970W:
- Full HD 1080p 5.1 channel Blu-ray 3D capable home theater system
- Included USB wireless LAN adapter (802.11n)
- Two HDMI inputs with 3D pass-through support, HDMI repeater function
- Universal remote
- Available in July priced around $800 dollars
Sony BDV-E570 and BDV-E770W Blu-ray theater systems:
- Free firmware update for these two home theater systems bring Blu-ray 3D and DLNA functionality to the platforms (above is the E770W)
Finally, on the home audio front, Sony announced several 3D enabled products including the Sony STR-DN1010 A/V receiver, Sony HT-CT350 and HT-CT150 3.1 channel sound bars, and Sony HT-SF470 5.1 channel home theater system. In addition, the STR-DH810 and STR-DH710 AV receivers: will receive a free firmware upgrade later this month which adds 3D support.
