Finally, arguably the biggest news coming out from Panasonic last week was the launch of the HDC-SDT750 – the world’s first consumer 3D camcorder featuring a 3D conversion lens. With the HDC-SDT750, users finally have an easy-to-use and affordable camcorder allowing them to record and enjoy 3D video content. When the 3D conversion lens isn’t attached to the HDC-SDT750, users can still record full HD 1080p video in AVCHD format.
The specially designed 3D conversion lens records right-eye and left-eye images simultaneously through its two lens resulting in video that can be viewed in 3D. The right and left images each have a resolution of 960 x 1080.
Features and specs of the HDC-SDT750 include:
- 3MOS system with 7.59 million effective motion image pixels (2.53 megapixels x 3)
- 46mm diameter Leica Dicomar lens
- 12x optical zoom
- Make manual adjustments with the manual ring
- Time Lapse Recording feature which plays a scene at an accelerated speed similar to fast-forward. Users can set the recording interval to 1 second, 10 seconds, 30 seconds, 1 minute or 2 minutes, and then view the recording in a reduced time period.
- 5.1 channel audio recording sound system with 5 microphones
- Focus Microphone function picks up sound from sources in the area in front of the camcorder regardless of whether the lens is focusing on a near or distant object
- Intelligent Auto function. The camcorder automatically selects the best shooting mode at the press of a button.
- Auto Power LCD automatically adjusts the brightness of the display according to the ambient light
- 3.0 inch touch-screen LCD
- Eco-Mode for conserving powert
- Pre-Rec allows the camcorder to continuously record three seconds of content into internal memory. When the record button is pressed, the three seconds immediately prior will also be recorded.
- Bundled with HD Writer AE 2.6T PC editing software
The Panasonic HDC-SDT750 will be available in October with a suggested retail price of $1399.95.
