Dell refreshes their consumer-oriented Inspiron laptop product line with today’s announcement of the new Inspiron R series of laptops. The new systems come with an updated design featuring curvy edges, smooth lines, and a choice of four different colorful finishes with chrome accents. Available in 14, 15, and 17 inch screen sizes, the new Inspiron R series has the following specs:
- Intel Core i3 and Core i5 mobile processor options
- Windows 7 OS
- Color choices including Mars Black, Peacock Blue, Tomato Red and Lotus Pink
- Built-in Wi-Fi connectivity
- Optional Intel Wireless Display technology (previously only available on exclusive Best Buy models)
- SRS Premium Sound
- Built-in media card reader
- Optional 1GB ATI graphics GPU
- Up to 640GB HDD
- Up to 8GB of DDR3 memory
- Built-in webcam
- Touchpad with integrated scrolling and gesture support
- Smudge resistant palm rests
- Dedicated 10 key number pad on the 15 and 17 inch laptops
- Dell Dock which helps organize music, videos, and photos and puts most commonly used apps right up top
- DataSafeOnline data backup and recovery
- DataSafeLocal allows you to create backup copies of the factory image
Inspiron R laptops are available now with a starting price of $449 at dell.com. You’ll also be able to purchase Inspiron R laptops at authorized retailers including Fry’s Electronics which recently became a Dell retail partner. Frys will have Inspiron R laptops starting on June 25th.
