Are you lusting after a Logitech Harmony remote but not quite willing to spend the price of either the Harmony One or Harmony 700?
If so, then you’ll be thrilled to hear the company has announced two sub-$100 dollar universal remotes in the form of the Logitech Harmony 600 and Harmony 650.
Both remotes replace up to five remote controls, offer activity-based functionality, and ease-of-setup and use. In fact, if you’re a fan of the shape and ergonomics of the Harmony One, then you’ll definitely love the 650 and 600.
Both remotes are super-easy to set up thanks to Logitech’s Harmony software which you can download by going to www.logitech.com/MyHarmony. Logitech supports more than 250,000 home entertainment devices from over 5,000 brands which basically means – if you have it, they will support it.
Just like other Harmony remotes, the 600 and 650 support activity-based controls which basically means the remote controls your entertainment system based around tasks. Want to watch TV? Just press the “Watch TV” activity and watch the remote configure the appropriate devices and states. The software setup will automatically create activities for your remote but you can also create your own customized activities.
The Harmony 600 features a monochrome backlit display and has a suggested retail price of $79.99 while the new Harmony 650 has a color display and has a suggested retail price of $99.99. Both remotes are expected this month.
