HP announces several new mobile systems designed for enterprise and small-business users including their first multitouch-enabled tablet for business users. The new systems include the HP EliteBook 2740p, HP EliteBook 2540p, and HP ProBook s-series. Here’s what you need to know about each of the new systems.

HP EliteBook 2740p:

  • Features standard-voltage Intel processors (Core i5 or Core i7 processors)
  • Starting weight of 3.8 pounds
  • 12.1 inch LED display or optional outdoor-view display with less reflection and higher-contrast ratio
  • Supports up to 8GB of RAM
  • Six-cell lithium-ion battery with up to 5 hours of battery life
  • Optional HP 2700 ultra-slim battery provides up to 11 hours of power when combined with the standard battery
  • Meets MIL-STD 810G military-standard tests for vibration, dust, humidity, altitude, and high/low temps
  • Comes with HP SkyRoom HD video conferencing software
  • Pricing starts at $1599 with units expected next month

HP EliteBook 2540p:

  • Choose between standard-voltage Intel Core processors or low-voltage processors
  • 12.1  inch LED display
  • Supports up to 8GB of RAM
  • Optional 2 megapixel webcam with business card reader software and HP fingerprint sensor
  • Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity
  • Full-size, spill-resistant keyboard with drains which protect the system from minor spills
  • Magnesium alloy casing
  • Integrated HP Mobile Broadband powered by Gobi
  • Several battery options including 3 cell battery for up to 4 hours of power, 6 cell battery for up to 8 hours of power, and a 9 cell battery for up to 10.5 hours of power

HP ProBook s-series:

  • Starting price of $719
  • Supports new Intel Core i3, i5, and i7 processors
  • Choice of Intel integrated graphics or discrete graphics from ATI
  • New multimedia controls for video
  • Units expected next month
