Pioneer introduces VSX-520-K and VSX-820-K 3D-ready A/V receivers
Pioneer Electronics introduces two new 5.1 A/V receivers today, the Pioneer VSX-520-K and VSX-820-K. The new receivers feature wireless Bluetooth connectivity and are 3D-ready thanks to support for HDMI 1.4. VSX-820-K is also “Works with iPhone” certified which means the receiver provides a “seamless user experience” for iPhone users. Here’s what you need to know about the two new receivers.
Pioneer VSX-520-K:
- 110 watts x 5 channels of power
- 3 HDMI inputs
- Supports Bluetooth transfer of audio content from any Bluetooth-enabled iPhone, iPod touch, Android, smartphone, or Bluetooth-enabled PC.
- 3D-Ready with HDMI 1.4
- Dolby ProLogic IIz decoder for HD audio formats
- Dolby True HD and DTS Master
- Advanced Sound Retriever – enhances compressed audio files by restoring data from iPhone, iPod, etc. delivering music that is near CD quality.
- Auto Level Control – technology ensures consistent listening from all entertainment by equalizing fluctuating volume levels across digital audio tracks, television channels and commercials that can cause unexpected disruptions to the entertainment experience.

- 4 HDMI inputs, USB/Composite AV front inputs
- “Works with iPhone” certified allowing playback of content on an iPhone, iPod, and iPod touch. Users can listen to their music, watch downloaded content, stream audio and video from YouTube and Rhapsody music services, all while charging the Apple device
- Front panel iPhone Control button which transfers iPod navigational control from the receiver’s remote control back to the connected Apple device so users can easily and quickly navigate through their media library
- Supports Bluetooth transfer of audio content from any Bluetooth-enabled iPhone, iPod touch, Android, smartphone, or Bluetooth-enabled PC.
