Lenovo rolls out three new Think-branded products
Further establishing the “Think” brand for 2010, Lenovo announces six new Think-branded products including five new mobile products and one new server product. The new systems include:
- ThinkPad X201 – industry’s fastest ultraportable laptop
- ThinkPad X201s – thinnest and lightest ThinkPad laptop yet
- ThinkPad W701 and W701ds mobile workstations – powerful mobile laptops
- ThinkPad X201 tablet – tablet for businesses
- ThinkServer TS200v tower – Lenovo’s first server with management capabilities and “solid reliability” at desktop prices.
Here’s a brief rundown on the six new products:
ThinkPad X201:
- Higher clock speeds than competitive thanks to the use of normal volt Intel Core processors (vs the use of ULV processors found in competing products)
- Processors include Intel Core i7-620M at 2.66GHz with Turbo Boost
- Long battery life of up to 11 hours with 9 cell battery
- Weighs under three pounds
- Prices start at $1199
ThinkPad X201s:
- Weighs in at under 2.5 pounds (with 4 cell battery)
- Over 12 hours of battery life with 9 cell battery
- Prices start at $1599
ThinkPad W701:
- Intel Core i7 Series processors
- NVIDA Quadro FX 2800 GPUs
- 17 inch display
- Built-in color calibrator
- Optional built-in WACOM digitizer and pen
- Prices start at $2199
ThinkPad W701ds:
- Intel Core i7 Series processors
- NVIDA Quadro FX 3800 GPUs
- 17 inch display
- Built-in color calibrator
- Optional built-in WACOM digitizer and pen
- Dual screen functionality
- Prices start at $3799
ThinkPad X201 tablet:
- Features latest Intel Core processors
- 12.1 inch convertible notebook with capacitive multi-touch enabled display
- Use either a pen or a finger to interact with the display
- Optional superbright outdoor screen
- Security features including fingerprint reader, anti-theft technologies, self-encrypting hard drives, etc
- Multimedia features including Noise-cancelling microphones, built-in stereo speakers, built-in 2.0 megapixel camera
- 54mm ExpressCard slot
- TV tuner
- FireWire port
- Connectivity options include WiMAX, Wi-FI, 3G Mobile Broadband, Bluetooth, and Gigabit Ethernet
- Optional DVD drive connection through ultrabase or USB port
- Supports up to 8 GB of memory
- Windows 7 OS
- Prices start at $1549
ThinkServer TS200v:
- Entry-level value-oriented single processor server
- Models start at under $500 dollars for small businesses etc
- First server to feature Intel Active Management Technology allowing for easy remote management
- Memory-error correction and built-in RAID for reliability
All six new products will be available in March.
