Dane-Elec announced their new myDitto Key today ahead of CES 2010. The device, which also was named one of this year’s CES Innovation Award winners, allows users to remotely access their home or business myDitto Servers through a direct peer-to-peer connection simply by inserting a small USB key into a PC or a laptop,
Setup is supposedly easy – simply connect a myDitto Server to a router, create and authenticate up to 30 personalized myDitto Keys for all users, and then use your keys wherever you go (and assuming you have an Internet connection of course). Simply insert the myDitto Key into a PC and then access all your data stored on your home or office server.
Specs to the myDitto Server include:
- Up to 2 x 2 terabyte disk capacity
- Gigabit Ethernet
- 2 USB 2.0 ports
- RAID 0 and 1 support
- Samba support
- UPnP, DLNA 1.5 and iTunes server support
- NTFS, FAT, and EXT file system support
- Measures 3.31 x 6.49 x 7.48 inches and weighs 2.62 lbs
- Supports Windows XP, Vista, 7, Mac OS X 10.5 or higher, and Linux Fedora Core and Ubuntu
No word on pricing but we’ll hopefully find out more info at CES 2010.
