Coby and sonic emotion announce 3D audio sound bar
Coby and sonic emotion have announced they will be introducing a new 3D-audio sound bar at CES 2010 featuring sonic emotion’s “wave field synthesis” technology.
According to Andy Macaluso, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at sonic emotion, “It’s the first sound bar on the market that plays 3D sound from simple stereo input.”
What’s “wave field synthesis”? Here’s what sonic emotion had to say about the technology from their website:
“Unlike conventional surround sound, sonic emotion technologies use wave field synthesis to create a field of sonic waves resulting in the illusion of sounds originating from all around. Listeners are surrounded in immersive, balanced audio regardless of their positioning, device location, and room dimensions. Thanks to the all-enveloping sonic waves listeners don’t hear sounds from speakers, in fact they won’t even notice where the device is!.”
No word on the pricing of the sound bar but we’ll be sure to check it out at CES 2010.
