Katie If you’re a single man planning to attend CES 2010, then you just might be interested in Intelius’s new Dream Date contest set to take place at the show. The contest will be featured live on stage in the Living in Digital Times exhibitor area located in the North Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center.

The premise? 9 single men will be picked to participate in a “Dating Game” at CES hosted by Katie, a top Las Vegas Mode (pictured top right). The winner of the game will win a “dream lunch date” with “an equally lovely participant and $150 worth of tickets for two to one of Vegas’s hottest shows.”

Sounds great eh? Ah but there’s a small  catch. In order to participate, you’ll need to agree to have Intelius Date Check run against your name via the Date Check mobile app. According to Intelius, Date Check performs an instant background check that “allows users to scan Sleaze Detector for criminal records, a Money feature with details about home ownership and other features that deliver vital information directly to their mobile phones – so daters can make intelligent and informed decisions about potential dates.”

Yeah.. sounds a bit creepy eh? We thought so too.

BUT.. the basic idea is to give singles out there as much information as possible about their potential suitors. According to John Arnold, Co-Founder and Executive Vice President, Business Development of Intelius, “By instantly giving singles a wealth of information they wouldn’t normally find out until weeks, months or even years down the line, Date Check helps prevent people from making potentially heartbreaking decisions in their personal lives”

Intelius claims all information available to Date Check mobile app is culled from publicly available records.

So if you’re a single man and you’re willing to have Date Check run against your name, then head on over to http://go.intelius.com/CESDatingGame for more information.
