Boxee and D-Link to release Boxee Box set-top box
Fans of Boxee will be thrilled to hear the social entertainment service has joined forces with networking company, D-Link to come out with an Internet-connected device known as the “Boxee Box”.
Boxee showed off the system (which isn’t exactly a cube or a box) at a Brooklyn club Monday night where Gearlog was on hand to gather some info. Here’s what we know about the Boxee Box thus far:
- Connects to the Boxee service and allows viewing of movies and videos from several Internet sources
- No internal hard drive
- Includes two USB ports, HDMI port, and composite video connection
- Built-in web browser
- Includes RF remote control
Expect demos of the Boxee Box at CES 2010 next month – we’ll be there to report on it so stay tuned!
