Smartfish Technologies announces ErgoMotion technology and new ErgoMotion Mouse
Here’s something interesting for ergonomically-minded individuals out there. Smartfish Technologies announced last week their new ErgoMotion technology – the “first ever design combining the science of ergonomics with the techology of motion”. The end result of ErgoMotion? changes and improvements in the way comfort is integrated into everyday devices like mice and keyboards.
According to Dr. Jack Atzmon, President and CEO of Smartfish Technologies,
“ErgoMotion is based on the concept that motion heals… Up until this point, there has been no true solution for the inherent problem of discomfort and injury caused by repetitive use of computer input devices. The mobile designs of our ErgoMotion products not only prevent discomfort and injury of hands and wrists, they also provide for increased productivity and a better overall user experience.”
The first product to feature ErgoMotion technology is the ErgoMotion Mouse which features a sleek curvature and pivot base. It’s the first laser mouse for the PC featuring a patented swivel mechanism which promotes a fluid movement allowing the mouse to “intuitively adapt” to the user’s hand position. Features of the ErgoMotion Mouse include:
- Reduces risk of Repetitive Stress Injury (RSI) by adding motion through the motion-base which adapts to your natural hand and wrist positions while you work.
- The mouse will rock, swivel, or pivot with your movement so your hand and wrist are never in a fixed position
- Connects wirelessly to PC via 2.4GHz USB nano-transceiver
- Laser tracking with 800 dpi
- Symmetrical design for both left and right-handed users
- Compatible with Windows and Mac systems
You can purchase the ErgoMotion Laser Mouse now for $49.95.
And coming out in March of 2010 is the ErgoMotion Keyboard – the world’s first “intelligent keyboard that prevents Repetitive Stress Injury”. The ErgoMotion keyboard features:
- Monitors your typing frequency and determines when to automatically and discreetly change its position so your hands and wrists are never in a fixed state as you type
- Periodic movement in hand and wrists promotes circulation and enhances comfort while reducing risk of injury
- USB connection
- Compatible with both PCs and Macs
When released, the ErgoMotion Keyboard will be available for $149.95.
