Ah yes – another holiday wish list guide – this time from the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) (the folks behind CES). The list is pretty general as CEA wanted to identify the types of products consumers were looking to get this holiday season. The top 10 items are as follows (followed by a little commentary from yours truly):

  • Notebook/Laptops (pretty expensive no? How about a netbook instead?)
  • Portable MP3 player or digital media player (aka iPod or Zune HD)
  • Flat panel TV – (aka HDTV set of some sort)
  • Video game system – (Xbox 360, PS3, or Wii)
  • Digital camera
  • Kindle or eReader (forget the Nook – it’s sold out for Christmas!)
  • iPhone (boring!)
  • Blu-ray player (if you get the PS3, you won’t need a standalone Blu-ray player)
  • Desktop PC – lots of cheap ones out there!
  • Smartphone (in case you don’t want an iPhone. How about a Palm Pre or Pixi? Maybe a Verizon DROID?)

Jim Barry, the Digital Answer Man and CEA spokesperson walks you through the top 10 list. Enjoy!
