I still remember my very first Gyration product. It was the Gyration Ultra Cordless Optical Mouse which I reviewed over at WhiningDog.net back in late 2002. That mouse made for an excellent HTPC mouse thanks to the built-in gyroscope and wireless capabilities… but it was still far from perfect.

Fast forward to late 2009, and guess what? There’s a new Gyration mouse out (from the folks at Movea Inc) called the Gyration Air Mouse Elite. Ideal for presenters and PC users alike, the Air Mouse Elite is useful for presentation content, digital media, casual games, and PC applications. Presenters can issue commands and initiate presentation effects simply by slight wrist movements performed in the air. Accuracy and responsiveness is delivered thanks to a tiny gyroscope which measures the angle and speed of movement to move a cursor between two points.

Features include:

  • Works both on the desktop and in the air
  • MotionTools software recognizes gestures and uses your hand movements to control applications and activate tools for interacting with your content and presentations
  • MotionTools allows you to customize your Air Mouse experience. Use it to program simple gestures for activating commands, launching apps, etc
  • 2D, gyro-based MotionSense technology
  • Wireless range up to 100 feet
  • 3 programmable buttons for customized control of app content
  • Weighs just 3.3 oz

You can purchase just the Air Mouse Elite for $99.99 or the mouse bundled with a low profile wireless keyboard for $149.99.
