AT&T announces two Sony Ericsson handsets to launch on July 19th
Two new Sony Ericsson handsets will be making their way to AT&T customers this summer – the Sony Ericsson C905a Cyber-shot handset and the Sony Ericsson W518a Walkman handset. Let’s quickly get into the features and details of each new handset.
Sony Ericsson C905a Cyber-shot:
- Slider form factor handset
- 2.4 inch scratch-resistant mineral glass screen
- Dedicated camera keys and shortcuts
- 8.1 megapixel camera – highest available from an AT&T phone right now
- Photo features such as face detection, autofocus, Xenon flash with red eye reduction, and GPS geotagging
- 3G network support
- Memory Stick Micro (M2) storage support
- Support for PictBridge printing
- BestPic technology captures seven successive photos with one click – allowing the user to determine the best photos to keep
- Smart contrast – compensates for areas that are too bright or too dark
- Support for AT&T Video Share, AT&T Music, Mobile Email, AT&T Navigator
- FM radio and video recording
Sony Ericsson W518a Walkman:
- 3.2 megapixel camera
- New way to interact with Facebook – users open the phone to view Facebook friends status updates and profile pictures
- One click from the standby screen allows users to update their Facebook status
- Upload pictures to your profile directly from the camera
- Advanced Shake Control technology lets users shuffle, skip, and control volume with a flick of the wrist
- Purchase and download music over data network from Napster Mobile and eMusic Mobile via AT&T Music
- Gesture Control technology lets users reject incoming calls or send the alarm to snooze with a wave of the hand over the camera lens
Both handsets will be available starting on July 19th. The C905a will be available for $179.99 after a mail-in rebate and a new two-year agreement. The W518a ill be available for $49.99 after a mail-in rebate and a new two year agreement.
