Don’t expect a lot of Palm Pre handsets at Best Buy or Radio Shack
Hoping to snag a Palm Pre on opening day at Best Buy or Radio Shack? You better get in line.. AND you better be first in line (or within 2-3 positions from the front). Based on a recent report, Best Buy will receive 4250 Palm Pres for all of their 1000 store locations which boils down to approximately 4+ units per store. Now.. of course, actual store allocations will probably vary around the country but let’s face it – there won’t be a lot of Palm Pres on hand at Best Buy for the June 6th launch.
What about Radio Shack? Expect numbers to be even worse there as Radio Shack is expecting approximately one-half Best Buy’s allocation. Why would people even consider Best Buy or Radio Shack? Both locations will honor the $100 dollar discount at the store which means you’ll pay only $199 at checkout.
