Rumor: Thinner Sony PS3 in the works?
Could there really be some truth to a slimmer PlayStation 3 console? Images of a supposed redesigned PS3 console have popped up on Chinese message boards (and yes.. we all trust Chinese message boards don’t we?) and they’re now making the waves here in the U.S.
Yeah I know.. this one’s a bit of a yawner. Does anyone really care about a slimmer PS3 without a reduction in price? Heck.. at least with the current model, I feel like I’m buying something hefty enough to warrant $400 dollars.
Anyhow, back to the matter at hand – would you really buy the PS3 if it was thinner than it was now? Would this alone cause you to go out and pick one up? Somehow I don’t think so.
However, we do have some good ideas that might help spur on sales:
- Lower pricing?
- Better content?
- Easier development environment?
Then again, with Sony in the red for the year, cutting the price of the PS3 is probably not a good idea for Sony.
