According to CNET’s News.com, T-Mobile will be releasing a firmware update for the T-Mobile G1 handset sometime next month. The new firmware will introduce major enhancements such as:

• Upgrades to the Linux kernel
• Virtual keyboard
• Stereo Bluetooth support
• Latest version of the Webkit core
• Cut and Paste functionality
• Squirrelfish Javascript engine for the browser

The firmware will also attempt to address many outstanding bugs on the handset but as far as when to exactly expect this firmware release?? it’s still somewhat up in the air. The only firm thing is that it will be available next month (Google ultimately controls the release of the update).
