Microsoft Notebook Cooling Base
Microsoft expanded their hardware product line today with the introduction of the Notebook Cooling Base. Yes.. that’s right, this super large, rolling-in-the-dough company has decided to get into the notebook cooler market. Strange eh? Once a market dominated by small time manufacturers (Antec is one name that instantly comes to mind here), it’s apparently now big enough for Microsoft to enter.
As the name implies, this is a product that’s designed to cool down a warm/hot running notebook computer. You can either place the base on your lap or place it on your desk and prop up the notebook via the built-in stand. The base itself is contoured for lap use and the built-in cooling fan is thankfully USB powered (no AC power needed here folks). The entire base measures 11.4 x 11.4 inches square and is lightweight enough for you to carry with you nearly anywhere.
Expect the Microsoft Notebook Cooling Base to hit the markets in July for a price of around $30 dollars.
