Four new panels for the Xperia X1 mobile phone were introduced today by Sony Ericsson. Available for download in mid-March, the four panels are as follows:

• CNN panel so you can keep up to speed with news, sports, weather etc
• Skype panel for quick access to Skype. Browse through your contacts and call or IM them
• Mytopia panel lets you play bingo and poker games with people around the world
• “On the Road” panel designed for people on the road and in their card. The panel features large touch icons and a simplified layout providing direct access to music playlists and tracks, navigation tools, and easy to use call-handling

According to Sony Ericsson, since the launch of the X1 in Q4 of last year, approximately 420,000 panels have been downloaded onto the X1 around the world.
