Apple CEO to take temporary medical leave of absence
In an email message to all Apple employees, Apple CEO Steve Jobs announced today that he was taking a temporary medical leave of absence until the end of June. Jobs revealed early last week that he was suffering from “a hormone imbalance” that had been “robbing” his body of the proteins he needed to be healthy. At the time, it appeared Jobs would continue his post while he worked through the recuperation process.
Unfortunately today, Jobs revealed “during the past week I have learned that my health-related issues are more complex than I originally thought.”
As such, Jobs is taking the leave of absence and handing the day to day reigns over to Tim Cook. He does go on to say:
“As CEO, I plan to remain involved in major strategic decisions while I am out.”
We want to wish Steve all the best as we hope and pray for a speedy recovery.
