Now, let’s take a look at those new IdeaPad notebooks that were introduced earlier this week – the Y650, Y550, and Y450. The Y650 is a 16 inch notebook, the Y550, a 15.6 inch notebook, and the Y450 a 14 inch notebook. The Y650 is arguably the most notable model of the three since it’s the first 16 inch widescreen notebook from Lenovo AND one of the thinnest and lightest 16 inch notebooks – often lighter than many other 15 inch notebooks. I lifted up the Y650 for myself and I can certify that this notebook is indeed lighter than my 15 inch Sony NR series notebook. Here are shots of the Y650 for your viewing pleasure:

Here’s a closer look at the front of the notebook. Notice the JBL speakers on the upper left and right of the keyboard.

Here’s the top of the Y650 – a nice matte finish.

Finally, I love the large touch-pad. Plenty of space for your fingers to roam.
