HTC announce S743 and updated Shadow Windows Mobile handsets
HTC announces two new Windows Mobile handsets here at CES 2009. There’s the new HTC S743 which is basically a smartphone that’s a phone first, smartphone second and then there’s the updated T-Mobile Shadow. The S743 is available unlocked and was on display here at the Digital Experience connected to the AT&T network.
The HTC S743 combines a traditional 12 key keypad with a full slide-out QWERTY keyboard. It’s thin (though a lil thick), and definitely very slick. Features include:
- Qualcomm MSM7225 Processor running at 528MHz
- Windows Mobile 6.1 Standard
- 256MB ROM, 256MB RAM
- SDHC capable microSD card slot
- Measures 4.58 x 1.71 x 0.65 inches and weighs 4.94 oz
- 2.4 inch TFT LCD QVGA display
- 1000 mAh LiIon battery
- HSDPA/WCDMA 1900/850 MHz
- GSM/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900 MHz
- GPS/AGPS
- Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR

The updated T-Mobile Shadow is now HotSpot enabled for use with T-Mobile’s HotSpot@Home calling service.It features a soft touch spin navigation wheel, a QWERTY slide-out keyboard with predictive text and a large display. Specs include:

- Measures 4.06 x 2.05 x 0.59 inches
