Microsoft cuts price of Windows Home Server OS
Building a Windows Home Server system just got a little cheaper as Microsoft cut prices for the Windows Home Server System Builder SKU from around $150 – $160 down to around $100 – $110 dollars. Windows Home Server is a customized version of Windows Server 2003 designed for consumer/home use and limited to 10 connected PCs. Windows Home Server systems are basically networked file servers that provide automatic back-up and shared storage solutions for networked PCs and have been popular to Do-It-Yourselfers. Microsoft decided to offer the price cut “to provide additional value to the system builder community and further promote the home server category”.
