Nooo… those darn creatures are back and this time they’re available on your iPod. Namco Networks announced the availability of the “Tamagotchi: ‘Round the World” video game for the Apple iPod which is downloadable from iTunes for $4.99. With the new “Round the World” video game, the “whole world” is now your umm.. playground. Great…  You and your dorky err… cuddly Tamagotchi can interact with clouds, plants, and geysers to help raise what Namco calls the ultimate pet – the entire planet.

Great.

You start by picking one of four different Tamagotchi (Mametchi, Memetchi, Kuchipatchi and Violetchi) and then you play one of six missions across three themed Planets (jungle, desert, and “bucktooth”). You can bring life to the planet by interacting with the Gaiatchi through games and activities including:

• Rock Paper Scissors
• Bubble
• Move It
• Beach Ball
• Dancing
• Tag It
• Tickling
• Memory Match
• Math Puzzle

Of course, it wouldn’t be a Tamagotchi game if you didn’t have to also take care of the Tamagotchis themselves. You’ll need to tickle and play games with the creature or.. you run the risk of it not exactly cooperating with you.

The game takes full advantage of the iPod Click Wheel interface and you can also listen to Tamagotchi music while playing the game.
