Samsung’s TouchWiz UI coming to the U.S. handsets
If you’re a fan of Samsung’s TouchWiz user interface found on the Samsung Omnia handset, then you’re in luck. Samsung announced today that the TouchWiz interface would be coming to the U.S. market in the form of several new handsets in late 2008 and early 2009.
The Samsung TouchWiz GUI is all about widgets. Users can customize and personalize their home screen by dragging and dropping widgets from a widget tray located on the left hand side of the screen. The GUI comes with several standard widgets including
- Web
- Music player
- Messaging
- Instant Messaging
- Bluetooth
- Games
- Calendar
- Clock
- Alarm Clock
- Navigation Services
- Account info
- Search
Again – expect TouchWiz enabled Samsung handsets to reach the U.S. by the end of the year.
