AT&T announces four messaging handsets
In an effort to address the growing popularity of text messaging, AT&T announced four new messaging oriented handsets today – the Pantech Matrix, the Samsung Propel, the Pantech Slate, and the AT&T Quickfire. Here’s a quick summary for each of the handsets
Pantech Matrix
- Available now in navy blue and black with green and on Oct. 16th in red
- Dual-sliding double-keypad design
- 1.3 megapixel camera
- instant messaging, Mobile email, AT&T Navigator, AT&T Mobile Music, CV, AT&T Video Share support
- Price of $79.99 with a new two year agreement and mail-in-rebate
Samsung Propel
- Square slider phone
- Mobile email, AT&T Navigator, CV, AT&T Video Share calling, AT&T Mobile Music
- 1.3 megapixel camera
- Full QWERTY keyboard
- Price of $79.99 after a new two year agreement and mail-in-rebate
- Available in late October in blue, green, red, and white with red
Pantech Slate
- “World’s thinnest device with a full QWERTY keypad”
- Bar-style phone
- 1.3 megapixel camera
- IM, Mobile email, and Bluetooth connectivity
- Available in black with royal blue in late October
- Price of $49.99 after a new two year agreement and mail-in-rebate
AT&T Quickfire
- Slide phone with touch-screen
- Full keypad
- Read messages in portrait or landscape mode
- Download music with Napster Mobile and eMusic Mobile
- Available in November in orange, lime, and silver
- Price of $99.99 after a new two year agreement and mail-in-rebate
