I do believe that I’ve found my next CompactFlash card for my digital SLR camera. It’s the Pretec 100GB 233X CF card with access speeds up to 35MB/s (the model is also available in a 64GB model in case you need something a wee bit smaller). 100GB of CF goodness - should be good enough for most high-megapixel digital camera users out there.

If you need a bit more in terms of speed, Pretec also announced new super high speed 333X 32GB and 50GB CF cards with read/write speeds up to 50 MB/s.

Now if all that CF storage capacity makes you long for a large SSD drive.. guess what? You can combine four 64GB CF cards to create a single 256GB SATA device via the Pretec Q-SATA 2.5 inch drive. Note.. it’ll cost ya!

Pretec announced prices for the 233X 64GB and 333X 32GB CF cards ($399 and $630 respectively) with availability expected by Photokina 2008. The 233X 100GB and 333X 50GB will be available by the end of the year.
