Canon introduces PowerShot SD990 IS and SD880 IS Digital ELPHs
Canon introduces two new Digital ELPH cameras – the Canon PowerShot SD990 IS Digital ELPH and the Canon PowerShot SD880 IS Digital ELPH. These cameras feature Optical Image Stabilization technology and Canon’s new DIGIC 4 image processor.
The Canon PowerShot SD990 IS Digital ELPH features the following:
- 14.7 megapixel resolution
- 3.7x optical zoom with Optical Image Stabilization
- New Quick Shot Mode for faster shutter speed
- Advanced Face Detection Technology
- Advanced Motion Detection Technology
- Face Detection Self Timer
- Servo AF
- Intelligent Contrast Correction
- 36-133mm focal length
- 2.5 inch PureColor LCD II display
- Available in black or silver
- MSRP of $399.99
The SD990 is also available in a limited edition red version to celebrate the manufacture of the 100 millionth PowerShot camera.
The Canon PowerShot SD880 IS Digital ELPH features the following:
- Successor to the SD870 IS
- 10 megapixel resolution
- 4x wide angle optical zoom lens with Optical Image Stabilization
- DIGIC 4 image processor
- Motion Detection technology
- Advanced Face Detection Technology
- Face Detection Self-Timer
- Servo AF
- Intelligent Contrast Correction
- 28 – 112 mm wide angle focal length
- Available in two-tone colors – black and silver or gold and brown
- Four large and distinctive convex buttons positioned to the right of the 3.0 inch PureColor LCD II screen for camera operation and menu navigation
- MSRP of $299.99
Both cameras will be available in October.
