Sony Ericsson has announced a new 3G slider phone in the form of the G705 mobile handset. The G705 has a 2.4 inch display, 3G support, a full HTML browser, and a 3.2 megapixel camera. The phone comes with an illuminated zoom web shortcut key which allows you to zoom in on web pages if they’re a tad bit small on your display or you can simply tilt the phone and view a page in landscape view. In addition to the G705, Sony Ericsson also announced the G705u handset specifically for Orange. The G705u is Sony Ericsson’s first UMA enabled phone which allows users to roam between a mobile network and a local area network. Specs to the G705 include the following:

The G705 will also be available in a version for American markets supporting networks GSM/GPRS/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900 and UMTS/HSUPA 850/1900/2100. G705 for American markets will be available early Q1 2009.”
