Sony Ericsson is getting into the digital photo frame business with the introduction of the new IDP-100  Digital Photo Frame. The move makes sense since a frame makes an ideal companion product to a Sony Ericsson phone - especially one with a high resolution camera. If you’re buying a new Sony Ericsson phone, why not also get a Sony Ericsson picture frame right?

IDP_100_Portrait Sony Ericsson makes it easy to transfer digital photos from the mobile phone to the digital photo frame by allowing for transfer by Bluetooth, USB flash memory, M2 card, microSD card, SD card, or MemoryStick Duo card. Once pictures are uploaded to the IDP-100, the frame automatically rotates, enhances, and re-sizes the images to fit the frame. Other features of the IDP-100  include the following:

  • 7 inch WVGA screen
  • Built-in Bluetooth support
  • M2 Memory Stick and USB compatible
  • 140 degree viewing angle
  • 10,000 hour lifetime before reaching 50 % brightness
  • 200cd/m2 brightness
  • 800 x 480 resolution
  • 128MB of storage space
  • Weighs 320 grams and measures 205 x 145 x 25mm

The Sony Ericsson IDP-100 Digital Photo Frame will be coming out in Q4 of this year in a dark grey color. No word on pricing.
