The clamshell/flip phone design finally comes to BlackBerry as Research in Motion has announced the BlackBerry Pearl 8220 Smartphone. The Pearl 8220 has both an internal and external display with the external display useful for screening calls and previewing incoming messages. General features include built-in media player, digital camera, video recording support, Wi-Fi support, and a keyboard usable by one or two thumbs. The full specs for the Pearl 8220 are as follows:

One of the first U.S. carriers to get the 8220 will be T-Mobile – though no word on pricing as of yet.
