Here’s another reason to like Newegg.com. The company has decided to stop charging sales tax to New York customers – something they decided to do back in June in response to a new state law that required certain companies to charge sales tax on shipments to New York State. However starting on August 21st, Newegg decided to halt the practice and leave the collection of sales taxes up to the consumer making the purchase. Way to go Newegg for standing up to the law (though I’m willing to bet that sales was hurting from New York State as a result of the law).
