Logitech enters earphone market with acquisition of Ultimate Ears
Logitech has announced that they have agreed to acquire privately held Ultimate Ears for $34 million in cash. This acquisition effectively expands Logitech’s portable speaker lineup with the addition of custom in-ear monitors/earphones. Ultimate Ears was founded back in 1995 and has a staff of about 40 people. Prices for their consumer products start at around $40 dollars while prices for custom products go up as much as $1200. The acquisition is expected to close this month.
