Nikon’s new flagship COOLPIX, the COOLPIX P6000
So I’ve saved the best for last right? Yeah I think so because this is Nikon’s latest flagship COOLPIX digital camera – the new COOLPIX P6000. I really don’t quantify this as a compact digital camera per se – it’s more a medium sized digital camera with the features of a high end digital SLR camera. The P6000 gives you a healthy 13.5 megapixel resolution sensor, a built-in GPS receiver, support for Nikon’s myPicturetown connectivity, and Nikon’s EXPEED image processing system.
Full specs for the P6000 includes the following:
- GPS gives users the ability to geotag pictures
- Dedicated Ethernet port built into the camera.. yes into the camera
- Dedicated command and mode dials
- Offers D-SLR functions such as Programmed Auto [P], Shutter-priority Auto [S], Aperture-priority Auto [A] and Manual [M] modes
- New COOLPIX Picture Control System features intuitive controls that enable users to adjust their images to pre-set parameters such as Standard, Neutral, Vivid and Monochrome and apply tweaks to image sharpening, tone compensation, brightness, overall tone and saturation
- New NRW RAW format
- Pop-up flash
- Optical viewfinder
- Front panel made of solid Magnesium alloy
- Compatible with SDHC cards
The COOLPIX P6000 will be available in September for an MSRP of $499.95.
