Gateway moves to 100 percent indirect sales route
Planning to purchase a new Gateway PC? If you’re planning to get one from Gateway.com, then you better do so soon! The company announced today that they were planning to move to a 100 percent indirect sales model – adapting the sales model that has made parent company Acer successful over the last several years. This basically means that the only way to get a Gateway system will be through a partner of some sort – such as a retailer, or e-tailer, or a channel partner. Current retailers/e-tailers include Best Buy, Circuit City, CompUSA, Costco, HSN, Newegg, Tiger Direct, Office Depot, OfficeMax, and Wal-Mart.
