Rock Band fans rejoice! Harmonix has confirmed that the sequel to Rock Band, aptly named Rock Band 2 will be coming out this fall for the Xbox 360 console (specifically in Sept). The game will then be coming out for the PS3 later on this year. Some tidbits about the release:

• More reliable, quieter and realistic instruments
• New set lists
• All songs purchased for first Rock Bad will be usable in RB2

Pictured above is the new Rock Band 2 guitar which features a new faux wood finish. Sure real wood would have been nice but this is after all.. a video game!

In any event.. yet another game to look forward to this fall.
