Dell introduces Studio product line with Studio 15 and Studio 17 notebooks
It’s official – the Dell “Studio” moniker is indeed real as the company officially launched their new consumer oriented product line with the introduction of two new notebooks – the Studio 15 and the Studio 17. According to the Dell press release, the Dell Studio product line is “designed for self-expression and creative living.” From the look of things, it appears the Dell Studio product will be all about personalization, and of course technology. This certainly also points to the fact that Dell is actively responding to companies like HP, Sony, Gateway, Toshiba, and Apple, who in recent years have designed computing products with flair (well Apple has always done it actually.. but for the other PC companies, it was a relatively new thing) and fashion in mind. Gone are the boring old school Dell notebook and computer designs and in are these new fashionable stylish systems. So.. let’s take a look at what the Dell Studio 15 and 17 are all about.
First off, if you think the Studio 15 and 17 look a bit like the popular XPS M1330 and 1530 – then you’re absolutely correct. They take design elements from those two notebooks – including the wedge shaped profile and the drop hinge design. Another cue the new Studio notebooks take from the Inspiron line is the ability for customers to personalize the notebooks with color choices. Customers can pick one of six color choices including Plum Purple, Tangerine Orange, Flamingo Pink, Midnight Blue, Ruby Red, Spring Green or standard Jet Black. There’s also an optional high gloss Graphite Grey choice that can be customized with contrasting Black, or more vivid Blue, Pink or Red edge trim around the display back.
On the tech side, the new Studio notebooks are certainly feature laden.
