Dell UltraSharp 2709W 27 inch widescreen flat panel monitor
If you think a 22 or 24 inch LCD monitor is just a bit small for your needs, then you might be interested in checking out the new Dell UltraSharp 2709W 27 inch widescreen LCD monitor. This monitor was quietly introduced by Dell and is now available for purchase on Dell’s website for $999. The price does seem a bit hefty for a full HD capable 27 inch display but then again, this monitor has practically every conceivable feature under the sun.. or maybe at least every conceivable interface. Here’s the rundown of features:
- First off, it’s a full HD display.. actually a bit better than 1080p. You get a resolution of 1920 x 1200.
- You get 110% color gamut for wider more accurate colors
- 3000:1 dynamic contrast ratio
- 6 ms response time
- 400 nits of brightness
- Easy swivel, tilt and height adjustments
- HDMI and DisplayPort interfaces with HDCP support
- VGA, Composite Video, and Component video support
- 178 degree viewing angle
- USB 2.0 hub with 4 USB downstream ports
- 9 in 2 media card reader
- Measures 24.89 x 7.87 x 17.79 inches and weighs 18.3 lbs
If $999 still seems a bit high (and yeah.. it’s a bit high for me), then wait. I’m sure Dell will eventually lower the price on this display. Of course you can always check out other HDTVs in this size but it’s actually hard to find full HD HDTV sets in the 27 inch range.
