ASUS to ship VW223B with DisplayLink tech later this month
ASUS announced that their DisplayLink certified 22 inch VW223B LCD monitor will be coming to both Europe and the U.S. later this month. The VW223B allows the connection of up to six additional monitors for a massive multi-monitor setup. The cool thing about the setup – this is all done via USB which means you won’t need additional video cards to be installed on your PC.
This is all made possible due to the inclusion of an integrated DisplayLink DL-160 chip inside the VW223B . The DL-160 automatically configures all connected monitors and provides 32 bit true-color depth at all resolutions and full support of Windows Vista Aero.
Features of the ASUS VW223B include:
- 1680 x 1050 resolution
- 3000:1 contrast ratio
- 5 ms response time
- Built-in USB hub
ASUS also announced there will be a smaller 20 inch sibling to the VW223B called the VW202B which also incorporates DisplayLink technology. This monitor will ship in July.
